Georgetown Bread Basket Food Drive

The Georgetown Bread Basket let me know that we were able to raise more than 9,200lb (4,100kg) of food and over $2,000 in donations on Friday evening and Saturday.

This food comes at a very opportune time for the food bank as their shelves were beginning to run low. On behalf of the Georgetown Bread Basket, I was asked to thank all of the Guiders, Scouters, youth and parents who participated and made the drive so successful.

I would like to thank all of those who thought that they were going to participate and were cancelled on short notice.  Your willingness to step up and volunteer allowed me to complete the original schedule which allowed the venues to be booked and the entire event take place.  As a result of this year's food drive we are planning to set the date for next year's spring food drive further in advance to allow the Guides and Scouts to plan our activities around it and avoid other planned events.

Once again, thank you all for your participation and remember, I'll be calling you again next year.

Yours In Scouting
